  1. The Garmin GPS map 64ST is the excellent navigator allowing to work with it under any weather conditions and at all seasons of the year! Shows roads, trails, contours accurately. Be sure you purchase high-capacity rechargeable batteries, or it will drain battery power quickly. Otherwise, it will have plenty of power for an entire day. 🙂

  2. In any GPS device, make sure you have the right batteries for it so your device won’t give up on you when you most need it. You may have a top-notch product but remember that it runs on batteries, so power-up! What I love about the Garmin GPS is the sunlight reflective color display screen. Makes reading data easier even under the sun.

  3. I have the same qualm with the Oregon 650T. Met expectations in every other way and definitely met my specific needs however, as has been mentioned, the battery pack included with the model is very insufficient and doesn’t seem to hold a lot of charge. Resorted to just buying standard rechargeable batteries. Seems to do the trick. Would you recommend any other models – perhaps not even Garmin – that have better battery capabilities?

  4. Hi Jack! Most of Garmin’s models have a battery duration of 16 hours. There are other units such as the Garmin eTrex 30x and Garmin eTrex 20x with average battery lives of 25 hours. When it comes to GPS devices, my buddies and I trust Garmin. I couldn’t vouch for other products, though.
